It's strong, durable and made of cast aluminum with a blue powder-coated finish. The vertical design helps to provide stability on the workbench, to offer rapid spring installed height testing of multiple valve springs. It features a large easy to read dial in the front that measures in either lbs. or kilograms. The high-torque, lever-actuated compression is key to repeatable precision. And spring height values can be marked using the ruler and sliding indicator on the side.
