A NOTE ON OZONE:

Ozone is used widely for sterilizing; this dryer generates ozone by the corona discharge method. Ozone is a pale blue gas with a distinctively pungent smell, detectable by many people at concentrations of as little as 0.01 ppm in air. Ozone is formed naturally from diatomic oxygen by electric discharge or exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Ozone is a powerful oxidant and has many industrial and consumer applications related to oxidation; it is used to deodorize air, purify water, disinfect kitchen tools and treat industrial wastes. Although ozone is widely used in industry and commerce the ozone layer, a portion of the stratosphere, is beneficial: It prevents damaging ultraviolet light from reaching the Earth's surface. This same oxidizing property, however, causes ozone to damage mucous and respiratory tissues, so for safety and comfort purposes, the manufacturer recommends using the dryer and sterilizer in a space with adequate ventilation, and stay away from it while it is disinfecting objects with ozone.
